Apricot Rail könnte einem auf der Zunge vergehen. Und ihre Musik gleich dazu. Die Band, eigentlich aus Perth, Australien, die zur Hälfte aber gerade bei der Queen in Großbritannien weilt, macht Musik mit weichen Klängen, in den seltensten Fällen kommt auch einmal die Stimme des Sängers zu Einsatz. Im Vordergrund aber stehen die Instrumente und die Möglichkeiten, was man mit ihnen machen kann. Ein Erzähldochmal… mit einer Band, die viel musikalische Hoffnung in ihre Heimat setzt.

A wall with my jacket on it.

2. Remembering your early youth, what was your most embarrassing moment?

Haha, it’s too embarrassing to mention here. So I’ll say something less embarrassing. hmm. Forgetting my casual clothes on casual clothes day at school. I was the only one to forget and wore my uniform.

3. From which childhood trauma are you still suffering?

My brother breaking my collarbone when I was five.

4. Besides music, have got a college degree or any other education?

I’m currently studying Law and English Lit at home in Perth, Western Australia but I am on exchange to the University of Glasgow.

5. Are you afraid of an instrument?

Piano for sure. I’m envious of anyone that has any degree of proficiency.

6. Which dance moves have you got? Do you dance at all?

I love dancing, it depends on the type of music. Generally I’ll just move my head and hands at the most rapid speed possible, keeping in type with the beat.

7. Which song makes you cry?

“Jupiter, the bringer of jollity” - Gustav Holst.

8. What have you always got with you?

Cigarettes.

9. Decide: tape, cd, vinyl or mp3?

mp3 is the way of the future, purely for portability.

10. What do you like to travel with: canoe, tandem or a scooter?

Scooter.

11. Do you own a pink piece of clothing? If you do, what is it?

My guitar strap (if that counts).

12. What’s your perfect pet?

Sorry to be depressing, but my dog at home, Bobby, kelpie bordercollie cross, just died a few weeks ago. He was the perfect pet.

13. What are you going to think after this interview?

Studying forensic medicine. It’s sort of like that show CSI but not as cool.

14. Tea or coffee?

Depends. Right now I’m drinking a coffee so I guess that!
